About

We take the guessing out of how a space sounds.

How it started

Unanim started with one person and one question. Mihnea Opartan, also known as DJ and producer Herodot, had his first studio designed by a consultant who never saw the room. After it was built, he couldn't stop wondering how that was even possible. He started studying acoustics, built panels for friends, and did his first projects for free while learning in real rooms.

His sister Cosima, an architect, joined to bring design and interior integration into the work. For the most demanding projects, such as recording and mastering studios, we bring in licensed acoustic expertise.

For more than ten years we've never bought an ad. Every job has come from someone who heard a room we built and asked who did it.

Why it matters

Two decades of playing and producing in rooms with bad acoustics is what pushed Mihnea into this work. The goal is the same in a control room and in a café: a space where you don't have to fight the sound. Mixes you can trust in a studio, a conversation you can hear at a café table.

How we work

We'd rather be involved early, while the architects are still sketching. We start from your plans, measure, calculate and design, then build, install and tune.
